Output file write failure

Got someone in closed area getting error while archiving a particular project "Output file write failure" .. perhaps disk is full. She can indeed archive a module and can otherwise write to the location in question, so I'm pretty sure the problem is with the Project and DOORS is giving the wrong error.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Did you ever find out why this was happening? I'm getting the same error on a Project archive.

Hi Louie,

Well...not knowing what version of DOORS you ran into this on, i went ahead and tried to do an archive on our newest DOORS v9.3.0.6 client.
At first it would not let me Create an Archive due to I had a module open saying invalid lock request.
After closing the module, it still would not allow me to create an Archive.
Then realized that I had recently performed 2 different types of Export to HTML from the DOORS module menu.
Even after closing out both of the IE exported to html files it still blocked an Archive.
Logged out of DOORS and back in again and then it finally allowed me to create the Archive as we have done many times before using DOORS v9.1.0.3 clients.

PLUS... you are in a secure area where lots of blocking mechanisms may be preventing writing an Archive .dpa file, i suppose you could try finding a for sure spot like the desktop to point the Archive file to... beyond that seems like a puzzling issue...

Good Luck...

gsdguy...

Don't remember but I have some nagging memories along gdsguy's post. I also have a nagging memory that somewhere in the project there was a database file whose name got corrupted somehow to one including illegal chacters, and DOORS archive could not deal with it so gave up. Never found out how the file name got corrupted, but it was easily fixed.

I narrowed do the Project archive error to a particular Module archive error by converting project sub-folders to projects, trying to archive it, and changing it back to a folder.
